What is Schizandra?

Schizandra is a fruit, which is native to East Asia. It is used medicinally in its dried format to resist infection, treat insomnia, and to promote healthy skin. The Chinese name for schizandra came from the fact that schizandra berries have all five basic flavors: sour, sweet, spicy, bitter, and salty.
